SECO App Hub: Six months of accelerating Edge AI adoption

Six months after its launch, the SECO Application Hub has rapidly evolved into a cornerstone of edge AI innovation, delivering on its promise to simplify and accelerate the deployment of Artificial Intelligence across industrial and embedded environments.

Since July, the platform has grown into a continuously expanding catalog of AI/ML applications, with new releases added regularly and the goal of reaching 150 in the coming months. This evolution is creating a dynamic marketplace featuring dozens of new, easily customizable, ready-for-scale solutions addressing real-world challenges across sectors such as industrial automation, healthcare, smart mobility, and retail.

Driving AI adoption at scale

The App Hub was designed to remove the complexity of deploying AI at the edge, offering validated applications that can be evaluated immediately. These models are optimized for each architecture, enabling seamless deployment across leading hardware platforms from Intel, Qualcomm, NXP, AMD, Rockchip, and MediaTek, thanks to SECO’s broad portfolio of edge AI devices. Backed by SECO’s enterprise-grade Long-Term Support (LTS), businesses can confidently integrate advanced AI capabilities without being locked into a single ecosystem.

Expanding use cases and capabilities

Over the past six months, SECO has introduced a wide range of applications that enable customers to accelerate time-to-market and focus on product differentiation.

Highlights include:

  • Conversational AI at the Edge: Local chatbot solutions powered by Llama and Intel® OpenVINO™ enable private, offline interactions for smart assistants and kiosks.
  • Vision and Quality Control: Applications such as PCB Defect Detection, Background Removal, and Image Super Resolution streamline manufacturing processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Predictive Analytics: Models like Sensor Forecast for smart buildings and Settlement Predictions for tunnel boring machines support proactive maintenance and safer operations.
  • Human–Machine Interaction: Gesture recognition, Emotion detection, and Speaker identification enhance user experience and security in industrial and retail environments.
  • Safety and Sustainability: Human Fall Detection and Land-Cover Change Detection address critical needs in elderly care, workplace safety, and environmental monitoring.

Complementing these releases, SECO also launched the Developer Center, providing comprehensive documentation and deployment guides, and introduced a 90-day trial of the Clea Framework, enabling turnkey integration of AI workflows into connected products.

On track to deliver strategic goals

The rapid expansion of the App Hub reflects SECO’s commitment to building a full-stack ecosystem that accelerates AI adoption at the edge. By combining validated applications, hardware compatibility, and the Clea Framework, SECO empowers clients to move from concept to production with unprecedented speed and reliability.

“Our vision is clear: make edge AI deployment as straightforward and impactful as possible,” says Fausto Di Segni, Head of IoT and AI at SECO. “Expanding not only the number of available models, but also the range of hardware platforms supported, with every new release we respond to concrete market needs, helping our customers unlock value through intelligent, connected solutions.”
